Song of the Pines Chorus thrives because of the energy and style of the people who have stepped up to plate. Here are just a few of the people that make our ensemble tick:
Suzy became the Director of Song of the Pines Chorus in 2003. In May 2006, she led the chorus to a 1st place victory in the Small Chorus Division of Region 21, and 5th place overall at the regional competition in Phoenix, Arizona. Her talent, enthusiasm and bubbly personality constantly inspire Song of the Pines to achieve a higher level of singing with each performance. Judi is literally the heartbeat of the chorus and "go to person" regarding all chorus business. Judi keeps us organized in a fun and effective manner and always maintains a positive and professional demeaner. When it comes to all of the little details that the rest of us take for granted, Judi digs in and takes care of business. Her commitment to a job well done is also evident in the baritone section where Judi gives it her all each week.
From the moment Terry walked into a Sweet Adeline rehearsal, she was hooked on barbershop. She became a charter member of Sound of Silver Chorus, Region 16, in 1979, and has been a member of several quartets, competing with Silver Edition for four years singing baritone. Terry became a member of Song of the Pines Chorus in May of 1991, and directed the chorus from 1998-2003, when Suzy Lobaugh accepted the role as Director. As Assistant Director, Terry happily jumps in and takes over whenever the opportunity presents itself, and contributes her talent by serving as Director of the Extension Chords ensemble and Bass Section Leader.
Rosemary (or "Rosy" as we like to call her) has served as our Choreographer since 2007. Her background in dance and music serves her well in this role as she brings fresh and fun visual plans to the chorus for all of our performances and competition. Rosy was raised on barbershop, and is no stranger to the International stage having performed with High Country and Skyline Choruses and placing 9th in the 2006 International Quartet Competition with Ms. Behavin'. Rosy also serves as SOTP's website administrator and is a member of the marketing and publicity team.

"Ah, barbershop….four part harmony with a twist. Singing barbershop is wondrous and challenging all at the same moment," Penny enthuses. Classically trained with a BA in Music, Penny finds barbershop chorus and quartet singing to be a beautiful thing. A member since 2007, Penny shares, "I have grown musically in all areas by leaps and bounds. Song of the Pines provides the venue for continued growth both musically and personally. I am a proud member of SOTP!"
